Final Update

Village Cafe and Sweet Shoppe, LLC would like to thank you for your support of our operation during the past year.  When we launched this new venture we expected that hotel occupancy would increase and that the number of persons frequenting the Kapalua Resort would increase.  Unfortunately, the economy did not rebound as forecast.  Coupled with an unexpected health crisis of a family member, we have decided it would be best to stop operations effective Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 3:00pm.

We would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year and a few of our accomplishments:

·         Our staff grew to include up to 30 full- and part-time positions

·         Over $850,000 in salaries and services was infused into local economy

·         More than $3,500 was contributed to local non-profit organizations

Without risk there can be no reward.  Certainly the outcome for this venture is not what we had hoped, but we also know how much we gained from this experience.  From developing relationships within the local business community to the heartwarming thanks and enthusiasm of our guests, we will forever be blessed.
